Snow was the protagonist. Each trunk had to be cleaned to allow the identification of any nodes that could have affected the quality of the trunk itself: the trunks or the part of trunks with the presence of nodes are used for the construction of planks; the trunks or the part of trunks without knots (of greater value and of value equal to about double compared to the part with knots) are instead used for the realization of veneer. This is the reason why it is essential to observe the surface of the trunks very carefully and see, and note, at what height the first knots appear which, inside the trunk, interrupt the regularity of the wood.
